A power of attorney is the best way to choose who should look after your finances in case you cannot manage yourself in the future.

 

This may be particularly important for people who know they have an illness which may progress to cause them difficulties in the future but you may also suffer an unexpected illness or accident. Without a power of attorney in place your loved ones will not have access to any monies in your own name without recourse to the Court of Protection.
